Preparedness

The Wildfire Preparedness program exists to assist residents and communities with preventing the loss of life and property from wildfires and other disasters. Using the adopted fire code and related standards, the program does its best to provide science backed information and education for residents. The Wildfire Preparedness program derives its authority from the adopted fire code and standards that establish minimum requirements for life safety.

Navigating the complex, unique situations and regulations relating to vegetation, on both developed and undeveloped properties can be difficult. The program is here to assist you in any stage of your project as well as answer general questions. If you have questions or concerns regarding vegetation around your home, a paved road, vacant lot, or public lands please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Our program appreciates any input from our citizens regarding concerns about possible fire hazards posed by vegetation in their neighborhoods. You can file a hazard complaint by clicking on the link below.
