Located at 777 San Anselmo Ave. in downtown San Anselmo, Fire Station 19 is the Administrative headquarters for the Ross Valley Fire Department. As such, it houses the offices of the Fire Chief, Administrative Assistant, Fire Inspectors and Wildfire Preparedness Coordinator. The administrative offices are open 8:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday, except holidays. An extensive remodel to the fire station was completed in September 2009. The daily on-duty emergency response personnel consists of a Battalian Chief, a Captain, an Engineer-Firefighter, and a Firefighter-Paramedic. The station houses one first due Type 1 Fire Engine (structural firefighting), staffed by the Captain, the Engineer and the Firefighter-Paramedic; one command vehicle used by the Battalian Chief; one reserve Type 1 Fire Engine ; and and an additional Type 1 Fire Engine supplied by the State of California Emergency Management Agency (EMA). This fire engine, under agreement with the State, can be dispatched to any area in the State. Ross Valley Fire Department provides the personnel for this engine and is reimbursed by the EMA for personnel costs. This station also houses Utility 19 which will respond into the watershed and other trail calls including search and rescue.
