NWS FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR COASTAL NORTH BAY, SAN FRANCISO BAY SHORE, AND NORTH BAY MOUNTAINS UNTIL JAN 23RD AT 6:00PM
SYNOPSIS:
Scattered showers throughout the day and into this evening with potentially imbedded thunder showers. There remains a flash flood watch throughout Marin County creeks and urban areas until 6:00 PM tonight. The showers are expected to taper-off late tonight and into early Tuesday morning with a drying trend into the weekend.
PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK:
- Mon Jan 23: Scattered showers; up to 0.18” along the eastern and southern County borders, up to 0.28” within the coastal hills, the north County border and Mt. Tam.
- Tue Jan 24: Intermittent early morning showers; up to 0.02” throughout the County – ending by10:00AM.

Total forecast precipitation amounts (beginning 4am Monday January 23rd through 4am Sunday January 29th): About 0.20” to 0.30”
UPDATE 1/21.2017: Residents and Merchants advised to prepare for flooding!
The National Weather Service continues to predict a significant winter storm arriving tonight (Saturday, 1/21) continuing into Sunday afternoon, with a predicted rainfall of 2 to 3 inches, and a flash flood watch, high wind advisory and high surf warning. NWS advises that we should expect rapid rises on the creek and to expect some flooding.
Downtown merchants are advised to place flood gates at close of business today. Additionally, residents are advised to be prepared for localized flooding and especially watch for downed trees, downed power lines and mudslides, which should be reported to 911.
