The Ross Valley Fire Authority is a consolidated department with the mission of protecting lives, property and the environments of San Anselmo, Sleepy Hollow and Fairfax through education, prevention and community service while working together in a professional and caring manner that is fair, honest respectful and ethical.

    Station 19



    Located at 777 San Anselmo Ave., in downtown San Anselmo, is the headquarters station for Ross Valley Fire and as such, it is staffed with the Fire Chief, Administrative Assistant and Fire Inspector.  The station construction was completed in September, 2009.  The Administrative Offices have moved back to this location.

    The daily on-shift suppression staff consists of a Battalion Chief, a Captain and an Engineer/Firefighter. The station houses one first due Type 1 (structure) engine (staffed by the Captain and Engineer), one command vehicle used by the Battalion Chief and a reserve Type 1 engine, which can be staffed by off-duty and volunteer personnel as needed.



    Station 20

    Located at 150 Butterfield Road, San Anselmo, is staffed with a Captain and a Engineer/ Firefighter, one of which may be a paramedic. The station houses one first due Type 1 engine and a Type 1 engine supplied by the State of California (OES – Office of Emergency Services). This engine, under agreement with the State, can be dispatched to any area in the state. Ross Valley Fire Department provides the personnel for this engine and is reimbursed by the State for the personnel costs.








    Station 21

    Located at 10 Park Road in Fairfax, is staffed with a Captain and a Engineer/Firefighter, one of which is a Paramedic. The station houses one first due Type 1 engine and one Type 3 (wildland) engine.  The Type 3 engine is utilized for wildland fire responses and responses that require going off the road, as well as a reserve engine for off duty personnel.
